Hyper Reportage
A year at the heart of a media outlet: shoots, coordination and content production, from the field to broadcast.

Context
Hyper Reportage is a media project run over a year: producing reports and video content, from shoot preparation to broadcast. A demanding format where every shoot is a mini-project with its own constraints of location, equipment, team and deadline.
The challenge
How do you produce professional-quality content with student-level resources? Every shoot had to be planned to the letter: a piece of forgotten equipment, a poorly set schedule or an ill-briefed team, and the whole day was lost.
My role
Active member of the production team: taking part in shoots, preparing and setting up equipment, coordinating shoot days and creating content for the outlet's communication.
Objectives
- 01
Ensure reliable shoots: equipment ready, schedule kept, team aligned
- 02
Contribute to audiovisual production, from filming to editing
- 03
Grow the outlet's communication and online presence
- 04
Establish repeatable working methods from one shoot to the next
Method
Every shoot treated as a project: upfront brief, location scouting, equipment checklist, a day plan, and an immediate debrief. Rigour upstream buys creative freedom on the ground.
- 01
Preparation
Editorial brief, location scouting, a full equipment checklist (cameras, sound, lighting, batteries, cards) and a day plan shared with the team.
- 02
Setup
Assembling and adjusting equipment on site: framing, lighting, sound. Systematic tests before the first take, so a problem is never discovered in the edit.
- 03
Shooting
Coordinating the day: keeping to schedule, managing contributors, adapting in real time to the constraints of the location and the unexpected.
- 04
Post-production & broadcast
Footage review, editing, graphics, then broadcast and communication around the published content.
Challenges & solutions
Shoots in real-world conditions, with surprises impossible to script
SolutionSystematic preparation and deliberate plan Bs: checklists, backup equipment, slack in the schedule. Improvisation is something you prepare for.
Coordinating a student team over the long haul, a full year
SolutionClear roles on every shoot, simple communication and team rituals: brief before, debrief after. Consistency drove the progress.

Results
A year of continuous production, with shoots run in varied conditions
A systematic preparation method: equipment checklists, location scouting, shot plans
Content broadcast and regular communication around the outlet
A genuine field mindset: anticipate, adapt, deliver despite the unexpected
What I took away
Hyper Reportage gave me a field reflex: think logistics, anticipate failures and hold the course when the day doesn't go to plan. That's where I understood that production, like events, is won in the preparation.
